Biden visits Columbus

COLUMBUS — President Joe Biden is coming to Columbus on Tuesday to tout the benefits of the $1.9 trillion pandemic relief plan.

It marks the Democratic president’s first visit to Ohio, won resoundingly by his predecessor, since assuming the presidency in January.

It’s part of the administration’s public relations blitz to emphasize the plan’s potential to ease their financial suffering and that Republicans opposed it.

Biden will highlight how the new relief bill will lower health care costs for many families.

His appearance falls on the anniversary of the signing of the Affordable Care Act.

Biden was also expected to announce Friday that — 58 days into his administration – the U.S. has reached its goal of injecting 100 million coronavirus vaccinations and is on pace to have enough of the three currently authorized vaccines to cover the entire adult population just 10 weeks from now.
