COLUMBUS – The Ohio Statehouse is observing Black History Month with an art exhibit and weekly “living history” performances.
The 2017 Rosa Parks Children’s Art Exhibit, “The Power of One,” sponsored by COTA, is an exhibit of art by students from kindergarten to third grade student art exhibit. The students were invited to express how they would change things for the better if they had the chance to do perform an act of bravery or kindness would they would do to change the country and make it a better if there were no obstacles. The exhibit will be on display in the Map Room throughout the month of February.

First-person interpreters will portray prominent African Americans in U.S. history in weekly 45-minute vignettes rich with history, drama and adventure. The programs are presented by “We’ve Known Rivers,” a partnership of storytellers.
