Josh Anderson scored the tiebreaking goal with 9:31 remaining while Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 27 shots.
Pierre-Luc Dubois scored twice, including an empty-netter.
Oliver Bjorkstrand, Cam Atkinson and Alexander Wennberg also had goals for Columbus.
