COLUMBUS – Even though it took SWAT to convince one witness to talk to investigators, Columbus police have no suspects or a motive to tie to the death of an unidentified man whose body was found behind a home on the Hilltop late Thursday night.
UPDATE: The victim has been identified as Michael David Moreno, 30.
Officers went to check on a report of a body lying in the alley in the rear of 393 S. Harris Avenue at 10:03 p.m. and found a man who appeared dead, which was confirmed a few minutes later, homicide Sgt. Stanley Latta said.
Several possible witnesses were being questioned as of early Friday morning, including one who held officers at bay for a while inside the home, but Latta said there was no motive or suspects.
This is the 98th homicide of 2016.
