Boom Town!

COLUMBUS – The premiere fireworks event in the Midwest will attract over 400,000 people to downtown Columbus Friday.

While some parking restrictions for Red, White & Boom! began last Sunday, most parking meters will be bagged starting at 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, said spokesman Rick Tilton of the Columbus Department of Public Service. Signs will be posted to remind motorists that while they can legally park there after 10:00 p.m., there will be no overnight parking, said Tilton.

Any vehicles still parked at 3:00 a.m. Friday will be ticketed and towed.

Parking meters will be bagged and temporary No Parking signs will be posted where there are no meters, Tilton said.
