COLUMBUS – Former Buckeyes Nick Bosa and Dwayne Haskins were taken in the first round of the NFL Draft Thursday, the fourth straight year that Ohio State players have been first-round picks, tying OSU with USC for the most all-time first-rounders at 81.

San Francisco made Bosa the second overall pick as the 4-12 49ers look to improve their pass rush. Bosa was considered by many to the best player in college football early in the 2018 season but he was injured in the third quarter of the third game, had surgery and missed the rest of the season.
A Heisman Trophy finalist, Haskins was taken with the 15th overall pick by the Washington Redskins. Haskins had a record-setting season for the Buckeyes in 2018 with 50 touchdown passes and 4,831 yards passing.
Redskins had their sights set on Haskins and didn’t even have to trade up to get who they hope will be their quarterback of the future.
Kyle Murray became the second straight Oklahoma quarterback to be taken with the top pick as the Arizona Cardinals took the Heisman Trophy winner.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell estimates 200,000 people turned out at the corner of Broadway and 1st Avenue in downtown Nashville for the draft’s first night.
