COLUMBUS (AP) — Ohio State’s All-American defensive end Nick Bosa will be out indefinitely after having surgery on a lower-abdomen injury.
Coach Urban Meyer said on his radio show that Bosa had surgery on a “core muscle.”
He didn’t provide a timetable for the return of Bosa.
Jonathan Cooper will start in his place against Tulane on Saturday.
Bosa sustained the injury Saturday during the Buckeyes’ 40-28 victory over No. 15 TCU at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Bosa was considered by some to be the nation;’s best college football player with 6 tackles-for-loss, totaling 43 yards, accumulated in only about three halves of playing time so far.
His four quarterback sacks – third-most nationally – included a strip sack of TCU’s Shawn Robinson that resulted in a fumble and an Ohio State touchdown in the win.
