COLUMBUS – In the next few weeks, Ohioans will be able to go back to bowling alleys and keep their plans for wedding receptions.
Beginning Tuesday, May 26, miniature golf, batting cages, and bowling alleys will be allowed resume operations if they can meet required safety protocols, Lt. Gov. Jon Husted announced Thursday. Skills training and conditioning drills for contact sports like football, basketball and lacrosse may resume on that day, though competition is prohibited.
While using batting cages or practicing baseball or softball, the state’s regulations require coaches to wear face coverings at all times and athletes to wear them while not participating in the field of play. Face coverings are “strongly recommended” for spectators.
Coaches should divide players into groups and establish rotating shifts when possible and athletes should bring individual water containers
On June 1, catering and banquet centers may reopen if they can meet required safety protocols similar to those required of restaurants, maintaining six feet of separation between tables with no congregating and crowd sizes are limited to no more than 300 people.
Wedding and funeral services had not been prohibited under coronavirus-related health directives, but large receptions and other gatherings of more than 10 people had been banned.
