COLUMBUS – Police say an 8-year-old boy was one of two people shot in a drive-by on the Hilltop Thursday afternoon.

Officers responding to reports of gunshots in the area of W. Broad Street and Midland Avenue just before 3:00 p.m. found the child and an adult suffering from gunshot wounds in front of a home on Midland Avenue, investigators with the Felony Assault Unit said.
The boy was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in critical condition but later upgraded to stable, police said.
The second victim, 43-year-old Andrew Segna, was listed in stable condition at Grant Medical Center.
Police say both are expected to recover.
A nearby home was also struck with gunfire but no one in the residence was injured.
Police say the suspect vehicle was described as a light colored sedan.
