GWINNETT, Ga. – The Gwinnett Braves scored the winning run on a sacrifice fly in the 8th inning to beat the Clippers 5-4 on Saturday night at Coolray Field to win the best-of-five Governors’ Cup semifinal series 3-1 and put an end to the 2016 baseball season for Columbus.
Michael Choice tied the score in the top of the 8th with an RBI double but Blake Lalli plated Mel Rojas Jr. with nobody out in the bottom of the inning to give the Braves the win and send them on to the finals against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
