COLUMBUS – It was supposed to have beer taps in every room and refrigerators stocked with beer in the bathrooms, among other amenities.
And it was supposed to be built in central Ohio.
But now it appears the world’s first crowdfunded beer-themed hotel will be built in Scotland instead.
BrewDog has announced plans to open the “world’s first” craft beer hotel next year as part of an expansion at its headquarters in Ellon.
Plans had been put forward to open the DogHouse near the Aberdeenshire-based brewery’s U.S. headquarters in Canal Winchester, but new land bought by the company has led the first to be opened in Scotland.
The U.S. hotel will be opened sometime during the second half of next year, according to a report in The Sun.
Initial plans for the hotel included a craft beer spa, a Punk IPA tap in every room and an in-shower beer fridge.
Guests in luxury suites would also have their own hot tub full of Punk IPA.
