Browns, Bengals among NFL’s best bargains

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Pro football is still a bargain in Ohio, at least compared to some other cities in the NFL.

Team Marketing Report released its Fan Cost Index on Thursday and both the Browns and Bengals end up pretty far down the list, among the least expensive teams to watch for a family.

At $348.80, the Browns are second from the bottom. Only the Jacksonville Jaguars ($345.58) offer a more affordable day out for a family of four. The Bengals are also well below the league average at $411.04.

The index includes ticket prices, parking, food, beverages and some souvenirs. The Browns ($54.20) is the cheapest ticket in the league; the Bengals are also a pretty good deal at $71.26.

The San Francisco 49ers’ new stadium is the most expensive venue to take a family of four for an NFL game.

The index says families will have to shell out an estimated $641.50 to attend a 49ers game in their new digs in Santa Clara, California.

The New England Patriots remain the most expensive ticket at $122, the highest average for a non-premium ticket. They’re followed by the 49ers at $117.

The average NFL ticket is $84.43, a 3.5 percent increase from last season.

Eight teams have average non-premium tickets more than $100. The New York Giants ($111.69), Dallas ($110.20), Chicago ($108.44), Jets ($105.66), Washington ($102) and Baltimore ($100.19) round out the field.
