Browns pick up Pryor as WR

CLEVELAND – Former Buckeye star Terrelle Pryor may play inside Ohio Stadium again, though he won’t be calling signals.

A few days after he was released by the Bengals, Pryor was claimed on waivers by the Browns, who will give him a chance to make their roster as a wide receiver.

The 6-foot-4, 233-pounder has appeared in 15 NFL games and made 10 career starts at quarterback.

If he is still with the team on Aug. 7, Pryor would play again at the Horseshoe when the Browns hold their annual Orange & Brown Scrimmage.

The team reached capacity registration for the 60,000 free tickets available for the scrimmage Monday, hours after the tickets were released to the general public. The team offered an exclusive pre-registration period last week for season ticket holders.

The Browns and the OSU athletic department capped registration “to help ensure an optimal fan experience.”

Pryor went 31-4 in three years as a starter for the Buckeyes. A superb athlete, he’ll get to show what he can do as a pass catcher with the Browns.

As a quarterback, he completed 170 of 302 passes for 1,953 yards with nine touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He also had 627 yards rushing.

Pryor spent training camp in 2014 with Seattle and spent parts of the 2015 offseason with Kansas City and Cincinnati.
