COLUMBUS — Ohio State and Cincinnati both benefitted Iowa’s loss to Purdue.
The Bearcats moved up a spot to No. 2 behind Georgia in The Associated Press college football poll for the best ranking for a team from outside the traditional power conferences since 2010.
The Buckeyes, who were idle on Saturday, moved up one spot to No. 5 in both the AP poll and the USA Today coaches poll.
The Bulldogs remained a unanimous No. 1 with 63 first-place votes in the AP Top 25 presented by Regions Bank.
The Boilermakers moved into the rankings at No. 25, snapping the longest current AP poll drought for a Power Five school. Purdue was last ranked in 2007.
The Hawkeyes dropped nine places to No. 11.
Oklahoma is No. 3, followed by Alabama and Ohio State.

The Big Ten announced Monday that Ohio State’s Oct. 30 home game against Penn State will be televised on ABC at 7:30 p.m.
Fans can help design the ‘Shoe’s facelift
The 2022 Ohio State football season will feature eight home games for the first time since 2012l, games against Michigan, Notre Dame, Wisconsin and Iowa that will be played on new turf with color and design schemes inspired by fans.
Now through Oct. 29, the Ohio State Department of Athletics is seeking fan-inspired design concepts for the new artificial turf that will replace the current turf in Ohio Stadium.
An internal department panel will review the submitted designs and ultimately create the new look of the field.
Submissions can be in the form of photographs or PDFs and kids are encouraged to send in their ideas,
