COLUMBUS – Days of waiting are over for the Buckeyes.
After enjoying byes in the first two rounds, both the men’s and women’s teams will see action Friday in their respective Big Ten basketball tournaments.
The top-seeded women will take on No. 9 Rutgers at noon Friday in the quarterfinals of the women’s tournament at noon Friday (BTN2Go) in Indianapolis after the Scarlet Knights beat 8th-seed Purdue, 62-60, on a game-winning jumper by Tyler Scaife, who scored with four seconds left on the clock.
The Ohio State men’s team – the second seed in the tournament at Madison Square Garden – will face their nemesis, the Penn State Nittany Lions (6:30 p.m./BTN), who have handed the Buckeyes 2 of their 3 conference losses this season.
Penn State made a late rush to hold off Northwestern 65-57 in the second round of the tournament to snap a three-game losing streak for the 7th-seeded Nittany Lions.
