DALLAS, Texas (AP) — Here’s a scary thought for the rest of major-college football: Some of Ohio State’s best players didn’t play in Monday night’s championship game, and many of those who did are coming back.
The quarterback who led the Buckeyes to a 3-0 postseason mark, Cardale Jones, indicates he’s coming back. The same goes for the two injured stars who used to be in front of him: Braxton Miller and J.T. Barrett.
Championship-game MVP Ezekiel Elliott, leading-receiver Michael Thomas, and most of the dominating linemen, linebackers and secondary are returning. Plus, the Buckeyes have several injured freshmen who will jump into the fray, along with one of coach Urban Meyer’s typical top-five recruiting classes.
Mark Ohio State down as the team to beat next year, too.
