Buckeyes fall to 7th in CFP rankings

COLUMBUS – The loss to its arch-rival dropped Ohio State to seventh in the second-to-last College Football Playoff rankings.

Michigan moved up to No. 2, taking the spot previously occupied by the Buckeyes.

The Wolverines join Georgia, Alabama and Cincinnati in the top four.

Garrett, 12 other Buckeyes named All-Big Ten

Ohio State defensive tackle Haskell Garrett was named to the All-Big Ten first team by both the conference coaches and the media Tuesday.

Garrett, who has already graduated, was tied with junior Zach Harrison for the team lead with seven tackles-for-loss, and he led the team with 5.5 quarterback sacks.

Harrison was a second-team all-Big Ten selection, along with senior defensive end Tyreke Smith and third-year sophomore “bullet” Ronnie Hickman.

True freshman cornerback Denzel Burke earned third-team all-conference honors and eight Buckeyes on defense earned honorable mention.
