EAST LANSING, Mich. — The Buckeyes are already preparing for their annual rivalry game with Michigan next week at Ohio Stadium.
To get ready Ohio State (10-1, 7-1 Big Ten) had a game with Michigan State and the Spartans gave the Buckeyes fits in a 17-16 Buckeye win.
Mike Weber ran for 111 yards and a touchdown in the victory. Weber’s fourth 100-yard game made him the third Ohio State freshman to rush for 1,000 yards in a season. Robert Smith (1990) and Maurice Clarett (2002) are the other two.
J.T. Barrett accounted for one more TD, a 24-yard TD pass to Curtis Samuel in the first quarter.
The loss dropped MSU, which had a failed two-point conversion with 4:44 to play, to 3-8.
De’Veon Smith ran for two touchdowns in a 3:33 span late in the third quarter, finishing with a career-high 158 yards rushing, to help the fourth-ranked Wolverines shake off Indiana, 20-10.
