COLUMBUS – The Buckeyes and Georgia are tied at No. 3 in The Associated Press college football poll after Ohio State soundly defeated Michigan State, 34-10, Saturday night.
The last time there was a tie in the top three was Sept. 20, 2015, when TCU and Mississippi shared third.
The Buckeyes, riding the nation’s second-longest winning streak at 12 games, have a week off before playing at Northwestern Friday, Oct. 18 (8:30p.m./FS1).
Although the Spartans dropped out of the Top 25, there are still four other Big Ten teams in the poll, including Wisconsin at No. 8 and No. 10 Penn State. Michigan moved up to 16th after beating Iowa, which dropped to No. 17
Cincinnati, meanwhile, entered the Top 25 after the Bearcats became the first AAC team to beat UCF in almost two years.
No. 1 Alabama and No. 2 Clemson held their spots after a week off for both and Florida surged to No. 7 after a big victory over SEC rival Auburn and Ohio State (6-0, 3-0) caught up to the Bulldogs in the AP Top 25 presented by Regions Bank.
LSU and Oklahoma stayed Nos. 5 and 6.
Auburn fell five spots to No. 12 after losing to Florida.
