COLUMBUS – Three weeks ahead of the kickoff of the 2022 Ohio State football season, six players were elected to serve as team captains.
The captains were named Saturday following a team vote during the ninth preseason practice session.
Led by repeat captain wide receiver Kam Babb, the group includes quarterback C.J. Stroud, the overall leading vote getter, and fourth-year tight end Cade Stover.
The defensive captains on defense include fifth-year defensive lineman Tyler Friday, fourth-year linebacker Tommy Eichenberg and third-year safety Kourt Williams.
The Buckeyes open the season at home against Notre Dame in Sept. 3.
