Buckeyes out of CFP’s top 4

COLUMBUS – The Buckeyes slid five spots in the latest College Football Playoff rankings following their loss to Michigan State Saturday.

Clemson and Alabama remained No. 1 and No. 2.

Oklahoma and Iowa were the biggest beneficiaries of the Buckeyes’ fall, the one-loss Sooners climbing to third with a showdown at Oklahoma State looming, and unbeaten Iowa is No. 4 with a berth in ther Big Ten Championship Game assured.

Ohio State (10-1, 6-1 Big Ten) closes out the regular season Saturday at the home of its traditional rival, Michigan (Noon/ABC). The Wolverines (9-2, 6-1) climbed to No. 10 in the CFP rankings.

The Spartans are fifth, Notre Dame slipped to sixth and is followed by Baylor, Ohio State, Stanford and Michigan.
