COLUMBUS – After another weekend of upsets in college football, the Buckeyes remained in their No. 3 spot in both major polls but gained some ground on the top two teams.
Alabama reclaimed No. 1 from Georgia in The Associated Press Top 25 and the coaches’ poll. Michigan and Clemson round out the top five spots in both.
Ten teams that entered the weekend ranked in the AP Top 25 lost, including five ranked teams losing to unranked opponents, which contributed in part to seven teams falling off the list.
Cincinnati reentered the AP Top 25 at No. 24.
The Bearcats are the one team to enter the rankings this week that already had been in this season. They fell out after a Week 1 loss at Arkansas but have won four straight since.
Wisconsin fired head coach Paul Chryst after a 2-3 start to his eighth season in Madison.
