COLUMBUS – The Buckeyes were scheduled to resume football practice Tuesday afternoon following the cancellation of their game last Saturday due to a high incidence of coronavirus cases.
The Ohio State University football team will resume organized team activities this afternoon in preparation for its game Saturday against Michigan State in East Lansing, Mich. -Dept. of Athletics statement
There were enough positive tests among players and staff to cancel Saturday’s game at Illinois.
One of the positive tests was coach Ryan Day, who because of forced isolation presumably won’t be in the sideline when the Buckeyes (4-0) play the Spartans.
The team cannot afford any more cancellations or they would be in danger of not playing the minimum number of games required to be eligible for the Big Ten championship game.
