The Crimson Tide’s big win over Mississippi didn’t keep Clemson from cutting into its lead in AP poll after the defending national champion beat then-12th ranked Virginia Tech.
Third-ranked Oklahoma is followed by Penn State, with Georgia climbing two spots to fifth. Southern California’s loss also made room for the Bulldogs to take over at No. 5 after their win over Tennessee.
Washington, Michigan, TCU, Wisconsin and Ohio State round out the top 10.
North Carolina State and Central Florida cracked the poll, taking the last two spots.
