COLUMBUS – With former Ohio State quarterback Joe Burrow at the helm, LSU leapfrogged into the top five in the latest AP Top 25 college football poll, knocking the Buckeyes down two spots.
LSU jumped to No. 4, dropping the Buckeyes to the sixth slot, and giving SEC teams three of the poll’s top five teams.
Burrow passed for 471 yards and four touchdowns to lead the new “Flying Tigers” to a wild 45-38 victory over Texas on the road Saturday.
The slide by the Buckeyes was a bit surprising since Ohio State (2-0) dismantled Cincinnati 42-0 on Saturday.
While the Bearcats may not be the same caliber as a top-tier Big Ten team the Buckeyes made them look like second-tier MAC.

Clemson and Alabama remain at No. 1 and No. 2, followed by Georgia, LSU and Oklahoma.
