Buckeyes to play under Friday night lights

COLUMBUS – The Buckeyes will play a Friday night game at Northwestern this season, according to a list of kickoff times announced Thursday.

The start times of six of the games on the 2019 scheduled were released and they include four noon kickoffs: The first three games of the season, home games against Florida Atlantic and Cincinnati, coached by former OSU head coach Luke Fickell, the Big Ten opener at Indiana on Sept. 14 and the regular season finale against Michigan on Nov. 30.

The Oct. 18 game at Northwestern is scheduled to kick off at 8:30 p.m. on FS1 and the Oct. 5 homecoming game against Michigan State is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on ABC or ESPN.
The game in Evanston will be the first Friday night game for Ohio State since the Big Ten’s decision in 2016 to begin playing some games on Friday night.

Additional start times will be announced during the season, OSU officials said.
