Bucks remain at #4 in BCS

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State’s dominating win over Penn State didn’t doing much for their national championship hopes, though it kept their march toward the Big Ten Championship Game on pace.

The latest BCS rankings released last night show Ohio State solidly in fourth place for the second straight week, gaining only a few percentage points on No. 3 Florida State, while Alabama and Oregon hold the first two spots.

“We don’t worry about [the BCS standings]. Honestly, we just focus on the task at hand and next week that will be Purdue. All the other stuff will take care of itself at the end of the season,” senior safety C.J. Barnett said after the game.

Ohio State travels to Purdue Saturday for a noon game at Ross-Ade Stadium. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.

The Ducks moved up after their impressive 42-14 rout of UCLA, while the Seminoles dropped one spot despite their 49-17 laugher against North Carolina State.

Ohio State is followed by Stanford, Baylor, Miami, Clemson, Missouri and Oklahoma in the Top 10.

The Buckeyes went for style points as they dismantled Penn State, 63-14, Saturday night in Columbus.

Braxton Miller tallied five touchdowns, three through the air and two on the ground, while Carlos Hyde piled up 16 carries and 147 yards with two TDs.

The Buckeyes (8-0, 4-0) hold the nation’s longest winning streak at 20 games, which is the second-longest in school history. The longest is 22 games from 1967-69.
