Bucks’ spring practice begins

COLUMBUS, Ohio – It seems like the euphoria and the smell of pepper spray has only recently faded after Ohio State’s stunning run to the national championship of college football and it is already time to begin the process of defending that title.

Spring drills for the 2015 Buckeyes start Tuesday with an 8:30 a.m. practice at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center, the first of 14 practices leading up to the 2015 LifeSports Spring Game, presented by Nationwide, April 18 at Ohio Stadium.

Running back Ezekiel Elliott, who rushed for 1,874 yards this season, including 696 yards and eight touchdowns in Ohio State’s three-game post-season march to the championship has been named a semifinalist for the 85th AAU James E. Sullivan Award.

Fans can help “Zeke” become a finalist by voting for him once a day through March 15.

The top six finalists will attend the award ceremony on April 19.

Older than The Heisman Trophy, the AAU Sullivan Award honoring the outstanding amateur athlete in the United States has been presented annually by the AAU since 1930.
