Bulls 7, Clippers 3

COLUMBUS – Dayron Varona hit a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the 9th inning Wednesday night to give the Durham Bulls a 7-3 win over the Clippers in the rubber match of a three-game set.

The Clippers made it a 2-1 ball game in the 4th on Bradley Zimmer’s RBI double, tied the contest an inning later when Michael Choice’s single scored Yandy Diaz and tied it in the top of the 9th inning on an RBI double by Jesus Aguilar before Varona hit his game-winner.

Josh Martin (2-5) took the loss for the Clippers, who return to Huntington Park Thursday for the first three games of a five-game home-and home series with the Toledo Mud Hens.
