COLUMBUS – A man injured in a shooting that prompted a safety warning from OSU police has died, according to Columbus homicide detectives.

Mohamed Abidraman Mead, was taken to the OSU Medical Center late Sunday night, suffering from a gunshot wound and in “extremely serious condition” following the incident a few blocks east of the OSU campus, Homicide Unit Sgt. Jeff Strayer said.
Officers found Mead when they responded to a report of gunshots being fired and people yelling that someone had been shot in the common area of an apartment building at the corner of E. 11th Avenue and Peters Alley at 11:35 p.m. Sunday, Strayer said.
Mead, 33, died Tuesday afternoon the 73rd homicide victim of the year in Columbus, Strayer said.
The investigation continues.
