COLUMBUS, Ohio – A team of alert OSU campus-area walkie-talkie patrol members stopped a rape in progress, leading to the arrest of the suspect.
The campus officers were patrolling just before 2:00 Saturday morning when they passed a vacant garage at 30 E. 12th Avenue and directed their flashlight beams inside, where they saw a man on top of a woman on the ground, “engaging in what appeared to be sexual intercourse,” according to investigators with the Columbus Police Sexual Assault Unit.
The officers intervened and learned that the 21-year-old woman, whose name was not released, had been forced into the garage by Randy Graham, Jr., (above) and was being sexually assaulted when the officers arrived.
Graham, 36, was arrested and charged with rape and kidnapping while the victim was treated at a local hospital.
