Cap City Half Marathon

COLUMBUS – More than 14,000 runners and walkers are expected to participate in the OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon Saturday morning in downtown Columbus.

The half-marathon, first run in 2004, serves as the 2017 USATF Half Marathon Championships and 2016 champions Christo Landry, of Charlotte, N.C., and Tara Welling, of Portland, Ore., will be in the field to defend their titles.

The Cap City Half Marathon was named the “Best Half Marathon in Ohio” in 2016 by national health and fitness company DailyBurn. It is the centerpiece of a three-day event that also includes the two-day OhioHealth Expotique, which will be held at Vue Columbus in the Brewery District.

Street closures will be in place in preparation for this large event beginning Friday evening, April 28. Long rolling closures will be in place along the routes during the events.
S. Front Street closed between W. Town Street and W. Mound Street from 6 p.m. Friday to 11 a.m. Saturday
S. High Street closed between Rich Street and Broad Street from 7 p.m. Friday to 2 p.m. Saturday
E. State Street closed between S. High Street and S. 3rd Street from 7 p.m. Friday to 2 p.m. Saturday
