BOSTON (AP) — LeBron James eclipsed Paul Pierce’s day with 24 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds to help the new-look Cavaliers to a 121-99 victory over the Boston Celtics.
James shook off a first-quarter leg injury to lead Cleveland on a 13-2 run in the second to pull away.
Pierce’s No. 34 was raised to the TD Garden rafters after the game.
Cleveland’s four new players combined for 49 points.
