COLUMBUS (AP) — Alexander Wennberg and Cam Atkinson each scored in the shootout and Joonas Korpisalo stopped shots by Corey Perry and Jakob Silfverberg to give the Blue Jackets a 4-3 victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday night.
Columbus’ Brandon Dubinsky tucked a shot inside the left goal post on the power play to make it 3-all with 5:03 left in the third, eventually forcing overtime. The Jackets failed to capitalize on an overtime power play as time expired.
Nine minutes before Dubinsky’s equalizer, Brandon Saad scored his team-leading 20th goal on a rebound to get his team back within a goal after Ryan Garbutt slipped a shot from a tight angle by Columbus’ Joonas Korpisalo at 1:45 of the third.
Mike Santorelli scored with 12 seconds remaining in the second, when he ripped a shot past Korpisalo to give the Ducks a 2-0 advantage.

The Blue Jackets signed defenseman Ryan Murray to a two-year, $5.65 million contract extension Thursday.
The 22-year-old Murray has four goals and 13 assists in 55 games this season, his third with Columbus. He was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2012 draft.
“Ryan Murray is a talented, smart player who has been a very steady performer on our blue line and we are extremely happy to have this deal completed,” general manager Jarmo Kekalainen said in a statement. “Ryan has earned more ice time, showed steady improvement and contributed in all situations for us throughout the season. We look forward to his continued growth and development with our club.”
Murray would have been a restricted free agent this summer.
