BOSTON — After more than a week of wondering, the Blue Jackets and their fans now know who Columbus will be playing in the second round of the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs.
Boston will host Game 1 Thursday night after the Bruins outlasted the Toronto Maple Leafs in seven games.
Columbus has been off since April 16 after sweeping the 62-win Tampa Bay Lightning.
Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy says he’s not concerned about only getting a day to prepare after playing the Blue Jackets three times late in the regular season.
Boston advanced with the most lopsided game of the series, 5-1 over the Leafs, as Joakim Nordstrom and Marcus Johansson scored 3:17 apart late in the first period and Tuukka Rask made 32 saves.
