Chiefs 6, Clippers 4

COLUMBUS – Four runs in the top of the ninth inning propelled Syracuse to a 6-4 come-from-behind win over the Clippers Sunday night at Huntington Park.

Columbus took the lead in the third when Ronny Rodriguez hit reliever Kevin Jepsen’s first pitch over the left field fence for a grand slam to give the Clippers a 4-1 edge.

Neftali Soto led off the ninth with a home run, starting a rally that gave the Chiefs a second win in the five-game, four-day series.

Carlos Rias (1-1) was saddled with two of the runs in the ninth and took the loss for Columbus while Austin Adams (5-1) pitched the eighth and ninth innings to get the win.

The Clippers embark on a seven-game southern road trip with a game at Charlotte Monday night.
