COLUMBUS, Ohio – Police say a two-year-old boy died after being hit by a pizza-delivery car while running after an ice-cream truck in the parking lot of a Northeast Side apartment complex Sunday.
Logan Gonzales-Romero was critically injured after he ran into the path of the car driven by James Bolognone on Parkville Court just before 6:30 p.m., police said. They say he could have been running toward an ice cream truck that was in the area.
Logan’s mother took him to St. Ann’s Hospital and he was transported by Med-Flight to Nationwide Children’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police say Bolognone stopped after the accident, which is still under investigation. No charges had been filed early Monday.
