COLUMBUS – A 19-year-old man is Columbus’s 100th homicide victim of 2016.
Columbus police were called to OSU Medical Center at 9:30 Saturday night after a man had been taken there privately, homicide unity Sgt. Stanley Latta said.
He says Shai-Kee Shikary Ray Allen had been shot and died two minutes later.

Police had no suspects Sunday morning and weren’t aware of a motive.
Allen was the 100th murder victim of the year and The Columbus Dispatch reports this is the most homicides in the city since 2010, when there were 105.
A 35-year-old man shot inside a South Linden home early Saturday morning had been Victim No. 99.
Darrin Mitchel was found suffering from a gunshot wound inside a home in the 1500 block of Duxberry Avenue at 1:42 a.m. by officers responding to a report of a collapsed male inside, homicide unit Sgt. Jeff Strayer said.
Mitchell died later at Grant Medical Center, Strayer said.
He says witnesses told investigators that Mitchell had been shot somewhere else and got to his home before collapsing but there were no known witnesses to the shooting and no known motive.
Anyone with information regarding this incident, is asked to call the Columbus Police Homicide Unit at 614-645-4730 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS.
