COLUMBUS, Ohio – The first homicide victim of the year is an unidentified man who was shot, along with a teen and another man, in what appears to be a drug-related shooting on a South Side street Thursday evening.
The three victims were found in and near a car outside 306 Harland Drive, near Indian Mound Park, just after 6:30 p.m. by officers dispatched to check out a reported shooting.
An adult man and a 17-year-old girl, found near the car, were transported to Grant Medical Center where they were listed in critical condition but a second adult man, who was inside the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene, Homicide Unit detectives said.
Investigators say evidence found at the scene suggests that the shooting may have been drug-related, police said.
The two men had not been identified Friday morning and the teen’s name was not being released because she is a juvenile.
Anyone with information regarding the murder is asked to call the Homicide Unit at 614-645-4730.
