COLUMBUS – The Clippers topped Toledo for the eighth time in the last nine meetings between the in-state rivals, by a final score of 3-1 at Huntington Park Sunday afternoon.
The win was the sixth in a row for the International League West Division-leading Clippers and completed a sweep of the Mud Hens.
Starter Adam Plutko (6-4) pitched six innings, allowing one earned run on six hits, walking two batters and striking out five in winning his fourth consecutive start.
The Clippers’ home stand is over and they head out for the week as they will make stops in Indianapolis and Toledo from Monday to Friday before returning to Huntington Park on Saturday where they will host Louisville for two games.
