COLUMBUS – Brandon Barnes led off the game with a single and scored its only run as the Clippers beat Norfolk, 1-0, in the final game of a three game series.
It was the fifth win for Columbus during a seven-game road trip.
Following back-to-back singles by Barnes and Connor Marabell, Yu Chang grounded into a double play, scoring Barnes for the game’s first and only run.
Luis Ysla (0-1) and two relievers no-hit the Clippers over the last eight innings but their hitters gave them little help.
Adam Plutko (7-3) gave up only four hits in five shutout innings.
The Clippers return home to begin a seven-game home stand, starting with Rochester Monday night.
