Clippers 10, Bats 6

COLUMBUS – The Clippers jumped on Louisville pitchers early and often Tuesday, jumping out to a 10-0 lead in the first 5 innings of 10-6 win.

Brandon Barnes led the attack, with 3 RBI, a double and a run scored as part of the 12-hit Columbus onslaught, which chased Bats starter Robert Stephenson (1-3) after only 2 1/3 innings. He gave up 7 runs on 7 hits despite striking out 5 hitters.

Clippers starter Stephen Fife (1-3) was the beneficiary of the offensive display.

The two teams play the rubber match of the three-game series Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. before the Clippers return home for a four-game series against Charlotte beginning Thursday night at Huntington Park.
