Clippers 10, Indians 4

COLUMBUS – Ryan Flaherty’s two-run double highlighted a five-run sixth-inning as the Clippers rallied to beat Indianapolis, 10-4, in the season opener for both teams at Huntington Park Thursday.

The Indians were leading, 3-2, with one out and the bases loaded when Flaherty lined to right off reliever Tylker Lyons, scoring Mike Freeman and Yu Chang scores. Flaherty finished the game with three hits and four RBI.

Oscar Mercado, Carlos Gonzalez and Cameron Maybin also knocked in runs during the inning.

Henry Martinez (1-0) got the win for Columbus while Jesus Liranzo (0-1) took the loss.

The teams resume their four-game series Friday night at 6:05.
