COLUMBUS – Thanks to some timely hitting, the Clippers beat Indianapolis 10-6 Monday night, widening their lead over the Indians in the International League West Division.
The win was also well-timed after Columbus went 1-5 during a home stand against the leaders of the North and South divisions.
Bobby Bradley hit two home runs, including his 27th on the year, while Brandon Barnes hit his 24th homer, all three coming off starter Eduardo Vera (5-9).
The biggest hit of the game was Ka’ai Tom’s three-run triple in the sixth inning, which put the Clippers ahead, 7-5.
Jon Edwards (5-1) got the win in relief.
The two teams play the finale of their two-game series in Indianapolis Tuesday night.
