COLUMBUS, Ohio – Carlos Moncrief’s big night at the plate Tuesday carried the Clippers to a 10-3 win over the Charlotte Knights in the opening game of a three-game series at Huntington Park.
Moncrief hit two home runs and knocked in four RBI while Toru Murata gave up three runs while striking out seven hitters in six innings of work to pick up his first win of the season.
Moncrief’s bigg inning was the fifth, when he hit a two-out three-run home run to right center field, scoring Jerry Sands and James Ramsey ahead of him. The Clippers plated five runs in the inning to widen their lead to 10-2.
