Clippers 12, Tides 4

COLUMBUS – The Clippers used a seven-run inning and five home runs to roll past the Tides Norfolk Tides 12-4 Sunday afternoon.

It was the third straight win for Columbus after losing the opening game of the four-game series against the Tides.

Eric Stamets accounted for two of the Clippers five round-trippers, including a two-run shot during the seven-run third inning.

Both of Stamets’s homers were hit off Norfolk starter Chris Lee (2-3), who was chased after 2 2/3 innings after surrendering eight runs.

Shawn Morimando (3-5) got the win after giving up four runs in seven innings.

The Clippers head to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre for the beginning of a seven-day road swing before returning to Huntington Park June 5.
