COLUMBUS – Runs were sparse for the Clippers but they scored enough to sweep both games of a doubleheader from the Durham Bulls Tuesday night.
A solo home run from Eric Haase and a sacrifice fly by Yandy Diaz provided the only runs in the Clippers’ 2-0 win in the opening game.
Adam Plutko (6-3) struck out eight hitters over six innings of shutout work to get the win while Durham starter Kyle Bird (1-1) took the loss.
Greg Allen collected 2 RBI, including a homer, as Columbus beat Durham, 3-0, in the nightcap, which was a makeup of an April rainout in Columbus.
Josh Martin (3-0) got the win in relief while Forrest Snow (5-6) took the loss for the Bulls.
The two teams play again Wednesday night.
