COLUMBUS – Cameron Maybin scored on a throwing error by Louisville first baseman Brian O’Grady in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Clippers a win in the opening game of a three-game series against the Bats at Huntington Park.
With the bases loaded and no outs, Bobby Bradley hit into a fielder’s choice but O’Grady threw the ball away and Maybin scored the winning run.
Bradley had put the Clippers on the board with a solo home run in the fourth inning.
Matt Whitehouse (1-0) pitched one inning in relief to get the win for Columbus while Ian Krol (0-1) took the loss for Louisville.
