COLUMBUS – A sacrifice fly by Eric Stamets in the second inning was enough support for Mike Clevinger and the Clippers who handed the Indianapolis Indians another shutout loss, 2-0, on Tuesday night at Victory Field.
Clevinger (1-0), who pitched in three games of the World Series for the parent Cleveland Indians limited Indianapolis to four hits and two walks with nine strikeouts over 7 innings.
The teams wrap up their series Wednesday afternoon before the Clipper come to Columbus for their home opener Thursday night against Louisville at Huntington Park.
