Clippers 2, Red Sox 0

COLUMBUS – Gio Urshela, on a rehab assignment from Cleveland, and Richie Shaffer knocked in the only runs of the game as the Clippers beat Pawtucket 2-0 at Huntington Park Wednesday night to avoid being swept in the three-game series.

Columbus starter Adam Plutko (2-1) outdueled Justin Haley with six shutout innings to get the win for Columbus.

Haley ( 0-2) struck out seven batters in his 6 1/3 innings of work but took the loss for the Red Sox.

The Clippers hit the road for their next six games, playing three-game series in Rochester and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, having lost five of their first 12 games of the season.
